The immunohistochemical expression patterns of various proteins involved in tumor angiogenesis and hypoxia, metabolism and autphagy has been studied at a pineer level by the Tumour and Angiogenesis Research Group. Quantification methods have been proposed and nowadays applied worldwide. The prognostic, postoperative relevance of such markers in lung, breast, colon, urological and gynecological carcinomas but also in melanomas, sarcomas and lymphomas has been thoroughly examined and we continuesly search for novel molecules of potential clinical value.
